Recently, Shanghai HuaDu Architecture & Urban Design Co., Ltd. (HDD) successfully secured the design rights for the JOLSHIRI CENTRAL COMPLEX project in Bangladesh. This project, positioned as a landmark commercial development at the city level, follows HDD's master planning and design of the JOLSHIRI area, which serves as the CBD of Dhaka New City. JOLSHIRI is an urban Central Business District (CBD) developed by the Government of Bangladesh, spanning a total land area of 10 square kilometers. It encompasses luxury retail, international super Grade A offices, and high-end lifestyle services. The design concept of the CBD draws inspiration from the imagery of "water droplets and ripples". The central building resembles a rippling water droplet, while the layout of the high-rise structures mirrors the undulating waves. The architecture integrates green ecology principles and promotes low-impact development, aiming to create a sustainable urban environment for the future.

The JOLSHIRI CENTRAL COMPLEX boasts a site area of 9,481.1㎡ and a total Gross Floor Area of 29,489㎡, offering panoramic views of the city's riverfront and convenient transportation access. The project aims to create and guide individuals towards adopting a new way of life by fully leveraging the value of the site and space, while bestowing upon it distinctive recognition and an urban cultural spirit through its architectural form. Inspired by the white water lily, Bangladesh's national flower, the design seamlessly integrates the elegance of the water lily into the commercial complex, perpetuating the pure and noble aesthetics of the Bangladeshi nation and creating a uniquely charming urban landmark. Similar to the white water lilies blooming in pristine waters, JOLSHIRI CENTRAL COMPLEX will stand out in the cityscape, destined to become a future landmark.

Project rendering

The building is exactly like a water lily sleeping on the lake where solemn rushes whisper and funny ripples quiver. From the overall layout, the main part of the building resembles the stamens of water lily flowers, the protruding parts around the hexagon resemble the petals of water lily flowers, and the surrounding green environment resembles water lily leaves on the water.

Architectural entrance design

The interior and exterior design of the building are harmoniously unified, with columns and adjacent ceilings adorned in a water lily motif, accentuating the elegance of these flowers. The glass roof of the atrium and the scenic elevator resemble a blossoming water lily, encircled by lights resembling ripples, evoking a dreamy ambiance. This intricate design not only bestows the building with a distinctive visual allure but also fosters a serene and romantic atmosphere, transporting individuals into a fantastical aquatic realm.
