City is not only an engine for economic growth, but also the home of man, whose primary development focus is to attract and shelter people. At present, urban development in Chinese cities is facing a transformation from spatial expansion to the improvement of the built environment, and from being land-driven to becoming human-centered. The concept of community planning is introduced to ground human-centered planning ideologies. As a problem-oriented implementation plan, community planning uses a comprehensive method that pays attention to both market practice and scientific research, bringing in non-material aspects to the design of physical spaces. This complements the existing residential planning and brings urban development back to its original purpose.
