The remodeling of Wensi Building continues the classical and modern fusion of the building façade characteristics of the High School Affiliated to Fudan University Campus. Following the red brick as the main color of the building, through the contrast of dark and light-colored bricks, the collision of horizontal and vertical patterns, and the contrast between full bricks and half-bricks, the red brick façade has a greater sense of antiquity and rhythm. At the same time, the embellishment of modern materials such as white stone and red perforated panels greatly enrich the colors and details of the façade.
The original atrium, which via the elevated floors, has a unique spatial rhythm due to its triangular plan, the spatial scale of the six-story high ceiling, and the glass roof and structural beams at the top. Building on this foundation, the renovation transformed the original and uniform windows into varied window types, including strip windows and floor-to-ceiling windows. Additionally, vertical greenery was added to enrich the façade and enhance the daily experience of students in the corridors.
